Low Ropes Course

The Norwegian Outdoor Center’s Low Ropes Course is specifically designed to recognize and develop the team work potential of organizations through a unique series of outdoor activities. As our most popular team-building activity, this program is an upbeat and success-oriented program that is both fun and suitable for all abilities.

Program Design: Team Development, Stress Free Fun, and Remarkable Scenery

The Norwegian Outdoor Center’s Low Ropes Course begins with a scenic drive away from civilization and into some of Utah’s most beautiful backcountry. Whether snowshoeing in the winter or hiking in the summer, we will lead participants into the pristine Uinta Mountains, where our Low Ropes Course lays hidden. Following a formal introduction to the program and a brief discussion of the day’s objectives, our guides will lead your group through a series of mental and slightly physical obstacles.

For example, "River of Gold" is a fun activity where your team’s problem-solving and communication skills develop as participants decide how to reach a pot of gold from across a stream with only a couple of wooden planks.

Learning Objectives: Collective Strategy and Understanding

The Norwegian Outdoor Center’s Low Ropes Course encourages participants to work through their weaknesses, perceived or actual. This experience will highlight the strengths of a successful team including trust, honesty, and integrity. To achieve each station’s objectives, group members must have the ability to solve problems together. Individual strengths and weaknesses become evident in these situations allowing valuable discussions to take place throughout the program. A final field-debriefing session allows team members to discuss what learning objectives were achieved and how they can be effectively applied to the office environment.

Great fun, highly effective team development, and the fabulous Utah Rockies! The Norwegian Outdoor Center’s Low Ropes Course is sure to improve the group dynamics of any organization.
