Welcome to the new NOEC!

The NOEC is a non-profit organization that has been serving youth and youth-at-risk since 1980.  The NOEC is currently working hard to update this website.  For current schedules and information please check out our Utah Education site @ my.uen.org/201233

The NOEC has restructured their program over the last few years and is now focusing on the Youth of Park City, Kamas, and Coalville.  Working directly with all Summit County Schools, the NOEC takes students from 3rd to 8th grade on weekly outdoor activities. The mission of the NOEC is to teach participants to better understand themselves, others, and all of Nature through a unique outdoor
educational experience accessible to everyone.

The original founder, Tom Cammermeyer, is still with the Center, and continues to guide participants through his Norwegian philosophy of Friluftsliv (meaning "Free Air Life").  This philosophy de-emphasizes stress and competition, practicing the unselfish and simple life in Nature.  Helping participants learn that all experiences in life are educational, Friluftsliv  is often expressed as "Slowing down and enjoying the journey."

The NOEC understands that each participant in their program has different abilities and needs.  If you would like to talk to someone about how we may better serve your community or child, please contact us by phone or e-mail.
